ABOUT US
Monkey Spunk Fabrication & Trucking.
Where It Started
Trucking has been in my family for three generations, and growing up around it taught me one thing early - money was always tight, even on the good weeks. You learned to respect your gear, make things last, and fix what you had. That mindset shaped everything that came later.
As a kid, the family would gift the old man parts for his truck at Christmas, only for the cheap plastic and chrome‑tin gear to disappear the next time he came back from out west. That was the first real lesson in the difference between something that looks shiny and something that’s actually built to last.
Whenever I was helping him wash or fix something, he’d call out, “Grab the Monkey Spunk,” his nickname for WD‑40. Years later, during my mechanic’s trade, the mechanic I learnt off said the exact same thing. The phrase stuck, and it eventually became the name behind the brand. And yeah - the name isn’t for everyone, but it means something to me, and that’s what matters.
Raising the Standard
Instead of stepping into the truck like everyone expected, I chose a different path and went to work in luxury dealerships. That environment sharpened my standards - precision, finish, and accountability weren’t optional. It also exposed a truth most people don’t say out loud: not everyone in a higher role cares about doing things properly.
One day a regional service manager told me my expectations were “too high,” and he meant it as a negative. That moment made something crystal clear - my expectations weren’t high; they were simply the standard I was raised with. Do it right, or don’t do it.
Even while working in high‑end vehicles, one thing stayed constant: truck parts could be made better - not just built to last, but built to look good doing it. That’s the difference between a part and a premium part. It’s the difference between ordinary and Rolls‑Royce standards. And when you operate at that level long enough, you don’t need to say you’re the best - the work speaks for itself, and we know exactly where we stand.
The Turning Point
The moment everything clicked came when my brother where fucking around at the yard and we had a idea to make some custom wheel nut covers for the old man’s drop deck running spider wheels. They looked unreal. A couple of months later, after a blowout, he couldn’t get them off and I knew about it.
That phone call cemented the rule I still live by today: if I’m going to make something, it must be engineered properly, tested properly, and built to outperform anything on the market.
From that day on, R&D became non‑negotiable.
The Craft
Machining. Polishing. Customizing.
At Monkey Spunk Fabrication & Trucking, the work isn’t rushed, guessed, or outsourced. Every piece goes through the same uncompromising process:
-
Machining - Precision cuts, tight tolerances, and billet quality that doesn’t lie.
-
Polishing - Mirror‑finish surfaces that look as premium as they perform.
-
Customizing - details tailored to the truck, the driver and the company with a standard we refuse to drop.
This isn’t mass‑produced gear. This is purpose‑built, premium‑grade hardware for people who know the difference.
Most people aim for “good enough.” We aim for flawless.
The Road Ahead
Since launching in December 2016, the journey’s had its highs and lows - making parts for some of the best trucks and companies on Australian roads, watching people lose their minds over something I created, and building a reputation for gear that doesn’t just look premium, but is premium.
At Monkey Spunk Fabrication & Trucking, this is only the beginning. The standard is set - and it’s only going higher.
